Shel McConville
M. Ed., MSM.
Shel McConville brings over a decade of dedicated experience in education, specializing in early childhood and elementary education, edtech, and social-emotional learning (SEL). With a background as a pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and fourth-grade teacher, Shel has also championed educational technology implementations across various school districts.
As an Adobe Education Evangelist, she plays a pivotal role in advancing creative learning through platforms like Adobe Express, supporting districts nationwide. Shel is known for her expertise in project-based learning (PBL), curriculum development, and fostering creativity in education.
Passionate about childhood mental health and creative expression, Shel integrates music, art, literacy, numeracy, and foreign language acquisition into her educational philosophy. A national speaker and presenter at conferences such as CUE, ISTE, and UCET, Shel shares insights on innovative teaching practices and student-driven learning approaches. Her dedication stems from personal experiences as a gifted student and then as a parent navigating mental health challenges, motivating her to empower educators and parents in nurturing the development of diverse learners.
Beyond education, Shel is a singer and bassist in the band Fifteen Years, an avid illustrator currently writing a children's book, and a proud mother of three children, including two with specific mental health needs. Her multifaceted background in music, art, and personal experiences enriches her holistic approach to education and advocacy.
Shel's mission is to inspire a new generation of educators and parents to embrace creativity and personalized learning, ensuring every child can thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
